Victorian Soaring Swallow Sweetheart Pendant on 18" Chain

This dainty sweetheart necklace was handmade by me influenced by the jewellery styles of the Victorian era and features a hand wired pendant created from an opalescent blue Austrian crystal and a sweet flying bird charm on an 18" gold plated cable chain, fastening with a lobster clasp. Presented in a recycled card box, ready to gift.
Swallows were a popular subject matter in Victorian jewellery, they had a special meaning for fishermen and sailors. Brooches were often given to loved ones when they set out on a journey in a bid to keep them well as a symbol of love and protection to ensure their safe return.
